Our Firm’s Continued Growth … and the Launch of Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry

We are excited to introduce the next phase of our law firm – as today we announce the expansion of the firm that we co-founded more than 25 years ago. As our fellow Founding Partner Bob McDonald has officially taken on the role of Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, we are beginning the next 25 years of our firm as Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry – adding two new partners and expanding our practice areas as we continue our longtime heritage and 25 year history of providing dedicated, personalized and experienced legal counsel to our clients.

With the addition of Gerard McCloskey and David Barry as firm partners, our firm will continue in its new incarnation with even more resources. Gerard McCloskey, a former assistant district attorney, will be joining the Criminal Defense practice group and handling real estate matters. Dave Barry, an experienced plaintiff’s injury lawyer, will be spearheading our new Personal Injury practice group, handling personal injury lawsuits including car accidents, construction accidents and slip and fall cases.  By adding new practice areas under our firm umbrella, we can help many more clients with their legal needs and apply the same dedication that we have directed to our criminal defense and dietary supplement regulatory clients since 1990.

In addition, as part of our firm’s expansion and growth, we have created a strategic partnership with the Ansanelli Law Group, now of Counsel to our firm, to bring Elder Law and Estate Planning under our firm umbrella. We will be working closely with Vince Ansanelli, his partner Ellen Kugler, and their associates on a variety of trust and estate matters — from simple wills to Medicaid applications and complicated probate and administration proceedings.  As the population of Long Island ages, we felt it was important to help our loyal clients to plan for their futures. With the Ansanelli Law Group, we will seek to ensure that valuable assets are protected for clients from all walks of life.

Lastly, we are excited to announce that Tama Beth Kudman, a nationally-known white collar criminal defense attorney, is now Of Counsel to the firm. Tama, who is licensed in New York, Florida and New Jersey, concentrates her practice in the area of federal criminal defense. Her experience in investigations involving medical fraud and health care crimes makes her a valuable asset to our firm on both New York and Florida criminal cases. Named as one of the top lawyers in Florida by SuperLawyers, Tama will be working closely with the lawyers in our criminal defense practice group and also assisting on regulatory matters involving issues of medicine and health care.

As we move into the future under our new banner of Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry, we are excited about our new partnerships and thrilled to be offering important new practice groups to our clients. We are committed to continuing our 25 year tradition of dedication and honored to have grown into one of the region’s most respected law firms. We thank you for your support through the years – and look forward to everything that the next 25 years will bring to our valued clients, colleagues and friends.
