CMG Attorney Dan Russo Inducted as Secretary of the Nassau Academy of Law
CMG attorney Dan Russo has been inducted as Secretary of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. Russo, an associate attorney at the firm, concentrates his practice in criminal defense, real estate, civil litigation and dietary supplement law. Russo was inducted at the NCBA Installation of Officers ceremony held on June 3rd.
Russo had previously been Treasurer at the Nassau Academy of Law, and prior to that had served as Counsel. As the educational arm of the NCBA, the Nassau Academy of Law is an accredited provider of continuing legal education by the New York State CLE Board, and one of the largest providers of CLE classes on Long Island.
Dan’s installation marks two Collins, McDonald & Gann attorneys currently serving as officers within the Nassau County Bar Association, with CMG partner Rick Collins having been inducted this year as secretary of the NCBA. In addition, CMG partner Marc Gann is a past-president of the Nassau County Bar Association.
A former Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, New York, Russo also appeared several times as a guest commentator on Court TV (now TruTV). Russo is past Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Nassau Lawyer, and has published numerous articles on various legal issues on topics ranging from the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment to criminal procedure in New York City courts to the criminal defense attorney’s obligations to clients during plea negotiations.
In addition to his active role at the Nassau County Bar Association, Russo is also a member of the New York State Bar Association. He is a resident of Wantagh, NY and a graduate of Fordham Law School.
