Collins, McDonald & Gann and The United Mavericks Support Dr. Doug Kalman as he Prepares to Fight for Charity

Doug Gets Ready for First Competitive Boxing Match in an Effort to Raise Awareness about Childhood Cancers

Doug_Kalman

On Saturday, December 7th, Dr. Doug Kalman –  co-founder of The International Society of Sports Nutrition, co-editor of the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and a leader in the pharmaceutical, medical, nutrition and sports nutrition fields – will be entering the boxing ring for his first-ever competitive boxing match.  Doug will be fighting to raise money — and awareness — of children’s cancers, with all donations collected on behalf of his fight going to the Making Headway Foundation,  a foundation dedicated to the care, comfort and cure of children with brain and spinal cord tumors.

The fight is part of the “Battle of the Champions 10” featuring 18 boxing bouts, taking place on Saturday December 7th at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh.  Doug, who has never boxed competitively but has been in training for the event, will be fighting Elvis Regis – a 21 year old who has ring experience.  Through this fight, Doug is hoping to bring even more awareness to children’s cancers and raise as much money as possible to help children living with cancer of the brain or spine.

Please join Collins, McDonald & Gann and the United Mavericks in supporting Doug as he enters the ring to “fight for a cure” for the many children affected by brain and spinal cord tumors.  As long-time sports nutrition legal counsel for the International Society of Sports Nutrition and leaders in sports nutrition law, CMG has worked closely with Doug through the years in his role at ISSN, where Rick Collins currently serves a Fellow of the ISSN and member of the ISSN Advisory Board and ISSN Legal Advisor.  We are excited to support Doug as he fights for charity this weekend, and will be there rooting him on as he raises money for this very important cause.
