Susan Katz Richman presents Marc Gann with the Nassau County Bar Association's "President's Plaque" at the 2011 NCBA Dinner Dance

Marc Gann, who will be completing his year as 2010-2011 president of the Nassau County Bar Association this June, was honored by the association at the Nassau County Bar Association’s 112th Annual Dinner Dance this past weekend.  The event, held on May 7th at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, was attended by more than 500 guests – and recognized a number of Long Island’s top law professionals for their years in practice,  as well as their contributions to the legal community.

Marc was presented with the “President’s Plaque” to commemorate his year as NCBA president – which was presented to him by NCBA president-elect Susan Katz-Richman.   The event also featured Marc introducing and recognizing long-time NCBA member William Levine, and presenting him with the Association’s Distinguished Service Medallion.

At the event, which was attended by many of the legal community’s most high profile attorneys and legal professionals, including former Chief Judge Sol Wachtler, Marc also recognized and honored a number of attorneys for their anniversaries of admission to the Bar.  Marc presented special honors to the two NCBA members celebrating their “Platinum Anniversaries” in admission to the Bar (70 years); the 36 members celebrating their “Diamond Anniversaries” in admission to the Bar (60 years) and the 52 members celebrating their “Golden Anniversaries” in admission to the Bar.

Marc will complete his presidency on June 1, when the 2011-2012 officers will be installed.  He will continue to play an active role at the NCBA, and, as a leader in the area of criminal defense, will be consulting and providing his expertise on matters surrounding continuing developments with the Nassau County Crime Lab.
