Rick Collins Attends Florida ISSN Annual Conference and Will Speak at Upcoming Connecticut ISSN-Europa University Workshop
Rick to Present a Regulatory Update on Sports Nutrition
Rick Collins has actively involved with the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) — the only non-profit academic society dedicated to promoting the science and application of evidence-based sports nutrition and supplementation — on two of the organization’s recent events. Rick, a Fellow of the ISSN and a member of the ISSN Advisory Board and ISSN Legal Advisor, has just returned from the 11th Annual ISSN Conference in Clearwater, Florida – and is now preparing to speak at the ISSN-Europa University Workshop on Sports Supplements, being held in Hartford, Connecticut on Friday, June 27th.
While in Florida last weekend at the Annual International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference, Rick met with fellow ISSN Advisory Board members, ISSN membership and industry leaders at the two-day conference, which took place on Friday June 20th and Saturday June 21st. The event, one of the premier conferences in sports nutrition and supplement science, began with Rick attending a Thursday night meeting of the ISSN Advisory Board to meet with other top experts in the supplement industry.
On Friday, Rick heads to Hartford, Connecticut to serve as a speaker at the ISSN-Europa University Workshop on Sports Supplements taking place on June 27th at the Connecticut Convention Center. Rick will be presenting “A Regulatory Update on Sports Nutrition” – and will be part of a full day of presentations by leaders in the field addressing a number of key issues in the supplement and nutrition industry. The ISSN-Europa University Workshop on Sports Supplements will be attended by professionals throughout many fields, including those in the supplement industry, personal trainers, dietitians, academic leaders/university faculty members and others in the health care arena. Attendees are able to earn CEU credits (NSCA, NASM, ISSN, ACSM, NATA) through the workshop, as well. In addition to being recognized by the American Dietetic Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, American Physical Therapy Association, National Association of Athletic Trainers and other organizations, the ISSN is also recognized by many Universities as offering the latest, cutting edge and non-biased information about the science and application of sports nutrition and supplements.
The ISSN-Europa University Workshop will be followed by the Europa Games Get Fit & Sports Expo. The event, which is open to the public, will feature a $10,000 Muscle Pharm Obstacle Course, as well as bodybuilding competitions and wrestling championships.
Rick continues to play an active role at the ISSN – both through these two recent events as well as through his work as ISSN legal advisor, where he provides important legal counsel surrounding supplement law and regulation in the supplement industry.
