United Mavericks Sponsoring “Night on the Town” Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 7

Collins, McDonald & Gann to Attend Event, Which Hopes to Raise $100,000 to Benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

NightontownOn Wednesday, May 7th, the 2014 “Night on the Town” Fundraiser will give people the opportunity to enjoy an evening of great food and entertainment – while giving them the chance to be part of what has become one of the biggest fundraising events on Long Island.  The annual event will take place at Jericho Terrace from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. – and is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees.

All proceeds from the 2014 “Night on the Town” will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Last year’s event raised more than $72,000, and this year the event hopes to raise $100,000 for this important cause.

The 2014 “Night on the Town” — which will enable attendees to sample fine cuisine from top New York City and LI restaurants — is being sponsored by the United Mavericks.  The not-for-profit group, with founding members that include Nick Valastro and CMG partner Rick Collins, among others, is comprised of 60 community leaders who have joined together with the mission of playing an active role in contributing to philanthropic and charitable endeavors.  Event coordinator and United Mavericks member Tony Lubrano, owner of Piccola Bussola restaurant in Mineola, plays an integral role each year in the growth and success of this important fundraiser.  Lubrano, along with event co-chair and fellow United Mavericks member Harry Zapiti, work to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Lubrano’s late father, Pasquale Lubrano – who was diagnosed with leukemia in 1991 and, as a result of research and clinical trials, was able to live 15 years longer than originally anticipated.

This year’s event will feature a sampling of cuisine from 22 restaurants– including Piccola Bussola, Major’s Steakhouse, Churrasqueira Bairrada, Becco, Vinoco, Diletto’s, Eleanor Rigby’s, Rothmann’s Steakhouse, Memories, Opa Grille, Revel Restaurant and Bar, Rockefeller Wine and Spirits, Stuffcakes Bakery, The Capital Grille, Uncle Bacala’s, Vincent’s Clam Bar, Piccolo’s, Heart of Portugal, Frantoni’s, Cardinali Bakery, Jericho Terrace and Manetta’s.  In addition, the evening will also feature a musical performance by Donna Vivino, formerly of the Broadway production of Wicked.  Honorees at this year’s event include Senator Jack M. Martins and Michael Costa, who will both be receiving the Pasquale Lubrano Community Service Award.

Tickets for the 2014 Night on the Town are $100 and can be purchased in advance at Piccola Bussola at 159 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola or click here to buy your ticket online.   In addition, tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event at Jericho Terrace, which is located at 249 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
